Registering and collecting Race Packs:

You can collect your race pack and register at Bivouac Outdoor Tower Junction from 9 am - 5.30 pm on Friday 15th October, the day before the race. Your race pack contains your maps, course notes, final instructions, and some goodies for your team. We strongly encourage you to pick up your race pack on Friday the 15th so that you are ready to go on Saturday morning. For those travelling from out of town who can’t make it to Bivouac Outdoor on the Friday, you can register on the day at your starting venue. We’ll tell you where that is on Thursday evening.

You will have to complete our waiver form at Bivouac before leaving with your race pack. If only one person is coming in to pick up your race-pack, they will have to sign the waiver on behalf of your team. They will also have to provide any details of medical concerns that might affect any member of your team and confirm your team captain’s cell phone number.

Early announcement of finish line:

Usually, the start and finish in an Adventure Race are a closely guarded secret until just before the event starts. However, due to the linear nature of our course, we are advising you now that the finish will be in Pines Beach/Kairaki, which is to the east of Kaiapoi. We strongly recommend that you have a driver who can drop you off at the start and pick you up at the finish.

Gear checks:

We’re going to check your compulsory gear at some stage during the event on Saturday. Please remember that team or individual gear-checks can happen at any time prior and/or during the event. You can lose points or risk disqualification if you don’t have the correct equipment.

Race Rules

Please ensure that you have read and understood all of the information on the Race Rules page. We will repeat these rules in your Race Notes. These rules are there to keep you and your fellow competitors safe, as well as looking after the land we use. Any person or team who breaks these rules will be penalised, ranging from a time penalty to immediate disqualification depending on the severity of the actions.

Spot Prizes:

We have cancelled the prize-giving due to Covid Level 2 gathering restrictions. Spot prize winners will be notified before the event and you will be able to collect your prize from the desk after you finish.

Thanks to our generous sponsors for providing such a great range of prizes!
