Welcome to the Geraldine Adventure Race, run as a fundraiser for Geraldine High School!
For 2026 the 3 and 7 races will follow a rogaine format, meaning you choose your own route and difficulty. You can complete the course entirely on foot, entirely on bikes, or by mixing both. The courses are designed so that teams aiming to be competitive will use a foot–bike combination. As the entire course is on private land, and teams may choose their own locations to leave bikes while they collect checkpoints on foot. You are free to transition between biking and running whenever it suits your strategy.
1.5hr Family Event
New for 2026, this shorter event is designed as an introduction to navigation sports. The terrain and navigation are much easier than in the 3-hour and 7-hour races. Expect farm tracks, hills, fences, and patches of bush.
3hr and 7hr Races
Both races use the same set of checkpoints. The only difference is how long each team has before they must return to the finish.
• The 3-hour teams have three hours to collect as many checkpoints as possible, choosing whether to travel on bikes, on foot, or both.
• The 7-hour teams will have the time to reach the more distant checkpoints. Competitive teams in this event will use the foot–bike combination.
The terrain for both the 3 and 7 Hour events is hilly, with creek crossings, bush sections, and plenty of rewarding views.
The times listed above for each event are the maximum times a team can spend out on the course. The winning team will be the team to complete the full course the fastest, teams will be placed firstly on how much of the course they complete, and secondly on their finishing time. For example, if two teams both complete half of the full course the team that finishes first will place above the slower team.
