Event Timing
The preliminary schedule for the event is shown below. This is subject to change but should give you a good idea of where you'll be over the weekend.
Friday 16th May
3pm onwards: Registration at Kaiteriteri Recreation Reserve.
If you are camping at the provided accommodation and you expect to arrive after 8pm, please add a note to your entry or send us an email to arrange a late check in.
Saturday 17th May
7am-9am: Catered breakfast at Kaiteriteri Waterfront Restaurant
8am-9am: Registration for race-only competitors at Kaiteriteri
9am-9:30am Rolling race start from Kaiteriteri
11am-2pm: Lunch stop at Ngatimoti
2pm-6pm: Riders finish at Kaiteriteri
6:30pm-8pm: Catered dinner and prizegiving at Kaiteriteri Waterfront Restaurant
8pm-11pm: Afterparty and live music
Noise has to be reduced after 11pm so as not to disrupt local residents and other campground users. Please be respectful and keep noise to a minimum after this time.
Sunday 18th May
10am: Checkout from campground
There's also the Karmakaze Enduro happening on Sunday if you're keen for more riding through the trails of the Kaiteriteri Mountainbike Park.
Categories
There are 3 age categories available in the race, Junior (U23), Adult, and Masters (50+). These age categories are then split into men's and women's.
There is also a couples category for you and your romantic partner, sign ups for this will be done at registration with a prize for the fastest combined time.
Prizes
Prizes will be given to the person with the lowest combined time across the 4 race stages in each category. Thanks to our generous sponsors we will have a fantastic array of spot prizes that everyone will go into the draw to win.
Support Crew
Friends and family are welcome to come to cheer you on and take photos. For safety reasons, we strongly encourage spectators not to drive along the course while competitors are racing and instead take an alternate route to their chosen viewing spot. If in doubt please send us an email
Compulsory Gear
You must carry sufficient food, water, and clothing with you for the conditions. There will be food and water at the lunch stop but this could be up to 5hr riding into the race for slower riders.
Your bike and helmet must be in good condition, and you must carry your own tools and spare tubes or CO2 canisters to be able to fix a puncture or other minor mechanical issues on the course.
It is the responsibility of each participant to ensure that their equipment is in good condition. However the event organisers reserve the right to prevent participants from starting if they feel that the condition of their equipment poses a risk to themselves or others.
